HEIFER INTERNATIONAL Integrated Campaign

Problem: People wait until the last minute to get people gifts during the holiday season. Everything is either sold out, can’t be shipped in time, or is simply insincere.

Insight: 79% of Americans would rather have a donation made in their name than a gift they’ll never use.

Big Idea: Soothe people’s last minute gift panic the week before Christmas by raising awareness around an easy solution that helps a good cause.

Solution: Create a new global holiday a week before Christmas that is dedicated to donatingto causes like Heifer International that work to fight to end world hunger. This would alsoinclude a collaboration with Heifer’s Corporate Partners, Starbucks and Walmart.

Now when people see that the gift they were looking for is out of stock, Heifer’s Amazon extension will show animals that can be purchased for the same price as the out-of-stock item.

When an item sells out in-store, a signed will be placed over the item telling the shopper that is out of stock and recommending a Heifer gift as the solution. Select signs will also have Heifer gifts cards that can be activated online.

Vending Machine

Were you in a rush and forgot your gifts at home? Now with Heifer’s vending machines at airports and major rest areas you can get a pre-wrapped gift so no one will be the wiser. The buttons on the side indicate the amount you would donate in correspondence to the animal it purchases. Inside the wrapped boxes are plush versions of the animals.

Phone App

People flock to shopping malls during the holiday season looking for last minute presents and now they pay for parking on their phones. Partnering with these parking apps, Heifer will send a notification when there is just one minute left on the meter.

“Your parking expires in one minute. Not enough time to do all your shopping? Heifer’s got you covered.”
